Accessibility Statement

Website Accessibility Statement

Copper Tutoring is dedicated to providing an inclusive, accessible educational environment for everyone. We believe that all families, including parents and students with disabilities, neurodivergent conditions, or temporary impairments, should have seamless access to our digital tools.

This statement covers our public website (coppertutoring.co.uk) and our custom learning management infrastructure (TutorCore).

1. Compliance Status

We actively design and test our digital applications to ensure compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. These international guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological needs.

2. Accessibility Features We Built

To ensure a user-friendly experience across our public and portal platforms, we focus on the following design pillars:

  • Clear Visual Contrast: Text and user elements use defined contrast layouts (including high-contrast text rendering against backgrounds) to support parents or students with visual deficits or low-light screen viewing.
  • Keyboard Accessibility: Key portal functions within the TutorCore platform (such as navigating calendar appointments or reviewing invoices) can be operated using keyboard tab controls rather than relying entirely on mouse inputs.
  • Screen Reader Compatibility: We utilise structured HTML markup, explicit headers, and alt-text tags on educational charts and interface iconography to ensure external screen readers can describe dashboard states clearly.
  • Responsive Layouts: The interface resizes dynamically without breaking text layout or overflowing the screen boundaries, making it highly usable on mobile devices, tablets, and high-zoom desktop screens.

3. Ongoing Improvement & Known Limitations

While we build our bespoke TutorCore platform to satisfy high accessibility standards, we recognise that certain external elements—such as interactive downloadable learning PDFs provided by independent school boards or external links—may not be fully optimised for screen readers. We continuously audit our platform text and code to catch and fix accessibility bottlenecks.

4. Feedback and Contact Details

If you or your child encounter an accessibility barrier while trying to view lesson notes, process an invoice, or arrange a booking inside TutorCore, please contact us immediately. We are happy to modify your portal preferences or provide information in alternative formats (e.g., text summaries, phone follow-ups, or custom contrast adjustments).

Please contact our operations support desk at [email protected] with any feedback or specific format requests.
